Shocking Shampoo and Conditioner Discovery!!

I’m REALLY surprised..
When you least expect it, you stumble upon some real cool stuff, like this shampoo I discovered. It was one of those days where I just asked my husband to pick any shampoo, the first one he sees. So, he bought Beautiful Volume Reverse System Shampoo by Tresemmé.
WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
This duo is different, at first my husband only bought the shampoo. When I was about to use it I noticed it was written ‘Step 2’. Step 1 being the conditioner. So the concept is to use the conditioner first then the shampoo, which edged my knowledge as a hair specialist and intrigued me. So, I bought the conditioner too, just to know what it’s all about. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, this was a little experiment I did for my own satisfaction.
HOW DOES IT HELP?
The duo in general helps with volume and bounce. The reverse system claims to make the hair soft, volumnious and bouncy for upto three days!
DID IT WORK?
YESSSSS, 100% YES! It worked like a miracle. If you’ve been following the blog, you know that I recently bought a shampoo and conditioner that didn’t suit my hair and made it weirdly flat. This was my saviour. It gave my hair EXACTLY what it said it would. It made it soft, bouncy and yes it did look volumnious too.

SO THE RESERVE SYSTEM WORK?
Here’s where we need to get down to technicality. As a hair specialist I know the general formula for a shampoo and a conditioner. Firstly, do not try this with other products because it’ll just make your scalp greasy. Reading the ingredients I realised they haven’t really tweaked the formula for this reverse system. The conditioner is the conditioner and the shampoo is well, the shampoo. Which bothers me a little, because your hair cuticles naturally open up with shampoo and the conditioner closes them and brings your hair back to its original state. Reversing the process would leave your cuticles open which would harm your hair in a million other ways.
MY EXPERIMENT...
I wanted to see if the reverse system was the magical aspect of this product or it was simply an amazing product.
DAY 1 : I tried the duo following the reverse system
RESULTS : My hair looked beautiful and healthy, minimum hairfall during the wash, no hair breakage, but, I just personally didn’t like the reverse system concept.
DAY 2 : I tried only the shampoo with another conditioner.
RESULTS : Again, hair looked gorgeous, same results as the previous time BUT, my scalp got super oily by the second day of washing my hair. So, Nah!
DAY 3 : I used the duo following the normal protocol of shampoo first then conditioner.
RESULTS : It worked like a charm. The same results as before but this actually lasted, my hair didnt act weird for THREE DAYS! They were right! And, scalp didn’t get oily or too dry. It was pretty close to perfect.
MY FINAL THOUGHTS...
After my experiment I realised the “reverse system” concept is just a fancy selling point. It does the product no good in anyway. BUT, the product by itself is a great one. I REALLY liked it. You can follow the reverse system if you want to try something fancy or just use this like any other shampoo and conditioner. I’m so happy, after a very long time I found a product that gives me the extra bounce I need during this time of the year where my hair has a life and moods of its own.

5. Results actually last for two to three days

7. Amazing back up product for emergencies
CONS:
1. Extremely hard to find!
2. Reverse system has no extra effect on the hair
