Skin serums are a huge fad now in the beauty industry, but it has actually been around for ages! Skin serums/oils have been used by Koreans as an important part of their everyday skin routine since the beginning of time. Their skin is proof enough to know the need for this product.

What is Skin Serum?

Skin serums are oil based products in which the active ingredients are broken down into smaller molecules which makes is it easy to penetrate through our pores.

Difference between oil and serum?

The biggest difference is the density and texture of the two, oil is thick and greasy, instead of penetrating through the skin most oils clog the skin pores which can cause more skin related issues like acne.

What does it help with?

Skin serums can be used for a lot of problems or just generally. There are so many in the market its maddening to try ad understand what will suit your skin. Many serums are particularly for specific problems like fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, pigmentation etc. Some skin serums are for the over all health of the skin.

So, I tried out multiple serums from different brands. most of them were good, some really really good. I’ll talk about two of my favorites here. But, the worst ever are serums from L’oreal. The gel and oil based ones were horrible, they just created a thin tiny layer which remained on my skin and made me look plastic and greasy. My skin although so dry, was not able to absorb the serum.

O.TWO.O Rose Gold Exilir:

This is a general serum for all skin types but I recommend it for dry skin specifically. Absolutely loved the fragrance and the way such little amount spreads all over your face. My skin absorbs this really well and stays supple and moist all day.

PROS:

1. Lightweight - so it doesnt feel heavy on the skin

2. I have to moisturise my face at least 2-3 times a day, but with this once in the morning keeps it hydrated and soft through out the day.

4. Can be carried easily

5. I love the packaging

6. Helps very very well with dry / dull skin

7. It can be used by other skin types as well.

8. Really good for sensitive skin

9. It gives your skin a natural glow and radiance.

10. Helps with aging (fine lines and spots)

CONS:

1. Not easily available

2. The bottle is breakable

There is no downer in using this serum! It’ll just work on everybody. I persobally like products that aren’t risky and infused with highly allergen chemicals.

3. People who don’t want to use harsh moisturiser infused with chemicals
